2027 AI Research Associate Program - Internship

About the role

JPMorganChase AI Research seeks an intern-level Research Scientist to develop novel AI/ML techniques for complex financial-services problems. The role spans problem formulation, experimentation, rigorous evaluation, high-quality implementation, and production delivery, collaborating with data scientists, engineers, product teams, and business stakeholders across the firm.

Team and Role

• Join a global team of research scientists, engineers, and product managers developing secure, reliable, scalable AI capabilities.
• Work within the Chief Data & Analytics Office to support responsible data, analytics, and AI/ML innovation.
• Translate research breakthroughs into practical financial-services applications, reusable assets, products, and production solutions.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with data scientists, applied engineers, and stakeholders across Commercial and Investment Banking, Asset and Wealth Management, and Consumer and Community Banking.
• Formulate problems, generate hypotheses, develop algorithms and models, conduct experiments, and perform rigorous evaluations.
• Synthesize and communicate research findings while delivering modular, well-tested, high-quality code.
• Provide thought leadership through internal and external forums, white papers, publications, and presentations.
