About the role
Jefferies’ 10-week Risk Management Summer Internship in New York offers hands-on experience within a global investment bank. Interns support quantitative analytics, risk measurement, model validation, and risk systems projects while receiving orientation, mentorship, performance feedback, and exposure to market and credit risk activities.
Responsibilities
- Support risk measurement methodologies, implementation, model validation, and development of risk systems and processes.
- Assist market and credit risk activities to promote consistent risk-assessment methodologies across the firm.
- Independently review and validate inventory valuation models, considering limitations and appropriate adjustments.
- Contribute to projects involving risk exposures, key metrics, limits, reporting, and escalation of concerns.
- Work on real-impact projects while collaborating with colleagues and contributing ideas from the beginning.
Risk Management Team
- The department provides independent oversight and analysis by identifying, assessing, monitoring, and managing firmwide risk.
- The team establishes risk frameworks, policies, procedures, controls, appetite statements, and limit frameworks.
- Responsibilities include assessing financial and non-financial risks, monitoring metrics, and reviewing risk-taking activities.
- The department keeps abreast of regulatory developments and requirements.
Program Experience
