2027 Corporate Technology Summer Internship – New York and Jersey City

About the role

The 2027 Corporate Technology Summer Internship offers a 10-week opportunity in New York City or Jersey City. Interns gain hands-on experience supporting investment banking technology through software engineering, infrastructure, information security, platform reliability, data, automation, cloud, and enterprise applications projects.

Role and Responsibilities

• Complete live technology projects involving research, analysis, recommendations, and practical business solutions.
• Develop or support software, data, reporting, cloud platforms, workflow automation, APIs, and AI or machine learning tools.
• Collaborate with engineers, analysts, business partners, and colleagues across Jefferies’ global operations.
• Support reliability, security, operational excellence, automation, and disciplined technology delivery.
• Work under mentorship, contribute ideas, manage multiple projects, and meet tight deadlines.

Potential Teams

• Platform Reliability Engineering and Management applies site reliability principles to platform stability, resiliency, automation, and observability.
• Information Security develops security controls, monitoring, cyber defense, identity management, vulnerability management, and cloud security capabilities.
• Infrastructure operates networking, cloud, databases, Unix, Windows Server, systems engineering, automation, and data-center technologies.
• Corporate Technology supports post-trade processing, enterprise data, compliance, legal technology, regulatory reporting, and client onboarding.
• Corporate Technology may also cover Finance and HR technology, digitalization, APIs, workflow automation, and AI or machine learning.
• Placements may be available in PREM, CISO or Information Security, Infrastructure, or Corporate Technology.

Candidate Requirements

• Pursue a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a specified technical field or a related technical discipline.
• Expected graduation must fall between December 2027 and June 2028.
• Demonstrate programming or scripting experience in at least one listed language or technology.
• Show strong analytical, problem-solving, written communication, and verbal communication skills.
• Manage multiple projects, adapt quickly, collaborate globally, and work independently under pressure.
• Demonstrate professionalism, relationship management skills, reliability, security awareness, and a focus on operational excellence.

Preferred Background

• Interest in platform reliability, site reliability engineering, information security, cloud, infrastructure, enterprise applications, or automation.
• Exposure to Linux, Unix, Windows, databases, networking, virtualization, containers, Kubernetes, AWS, or Azure.
• Familiarity with Git, continuous integration and delivery, Prometheus, Grafana, observability, or DevOps practices.
• Experience with APIs, data analysis, business intelligence, reporting, workflow automation, Power Platform, UiPath, or AI and machine learning.
