Jefferies’ full-time Risk Management Associate Program in New York offers quantitative analytics experience across market and credit risk. Program Structure
- Complete an orientation program before beginning day-to-day Risk department responsibilities.
- Receive ongoing instruction and mentorship from experienced colleagues throughout the program.
- Work on projects with tangible impact while contributing ideas and value from the outset.
- Participate in a structured review process designed to support the associate experience.
Risk Management Responsibilities
- Support risk measurement methodologies, model validation, and risk systems and process implementation.
- Contribute to market and credit risk oversight, ensuring consistent methodologies across the firm.
- Review and validate valuation models, ensuring limitations are understood and appropriately incorporated.
- Develop technology-enabled and AI-powered solutions for risk analysis, monitoring, and governance.
Department Scope
- Identify, assess, monitor, and manage financial and non-financial risks across the firm.
- Establish risk frameworks, policies, procedures, controls, appetite statements, and limit frameworks.
- Monitor risk metrics and limit usage, reporting exposures and escalating breaches or concerns.
- Perform independent reviews of risk-taking, hedging activities, exposures, and vulnerabilities.
Candidate Requirements
- Master’s, PhD, or equivalent degree in a relevant STEM discipline, with strong academic performance.
- Expected graduation between December 2026 and June 2027.
- Knowledge of risk modeling, portfolio analytics, financial markets, and multiple asset classes.
- Proficiency in Python, SQL, databases, and systems implementation.
- Strong analytical, quantitative, written, verbal, interpersonal, multitasking, and time-management skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively under pressure and tight deadlines.
