2028 Investment Banking Summer Analyst Program – Chicago, Industrials Group

About the role

Ten-week Investment Banking Summer Analyst internship in Jefferies’ Chicago Industrials Group. Analysts support senior bankers on pitches, live M&A and financing transactions, perform valuation and financial modeling, and research companies, markets, and industries. The program includes orientation, training, mentoring, professional development events, and formal performance reviews.

Responsibilities

• Perform financial valuation, discounted cash flow, and multiples-based analyses.
• Build and use financial models.
• Prepare pitchbooks and live deal materials, including offering memorandums and prospectuses.
• Conduct industry and product research.
• Analyze detailed corporate and financial information.
• Participate in financings and M&A transaction execution.

Program and Team

• Work closely with senior bankers on pitches and live deals within a lean deal-team structure.
• Receive orientation and training before beginning day-to-day responsibilities.
• Receive ongoing support from colleagues serving as instructors and mentors.
• Attend social and educational events supporting professional development and networking.
• Receive formal performance reviews during the program.
• Chicago’s Industrials Group covers industrial services, multi-industrials, and capital goods clients.

Requirements

• Complete the junior year of a four-year bachelor’s degree or equivalent program.
• Graduate between December 2028 and June 2029.
• Demonstrate professionalism and client management skills.
• Have strong technical, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Manage multiple projects, work under pressure, and meet tight deadlines.
• Work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
