2028 Investment Banking Summer Analyst Program – Charlotte, Consumer & Retail Group

About the role

Ten-week Investment Banking Summer Analyst internship in Jefferies’ Charlotte Consumer & Retail Group. Analysts receive orientation and training, then support senior bankers on pitches, live deals, valuation, modeling, research, financings, and M&A transactions. The program offers mentorship, formal reviews, and social and educational events, with a $110,000 pro-rated salary.

Responsibilities

• Perform valuation, discounted cash flow, and multiples-based analyses.
• Build and use financial models.
• Prepare pitchbooks and live deal materials, including offering memorandums and prospectuses.
• Conduct industry and product research.
• Analyze detailed corporate and financial information.
• Participate in financings and M&A transaction execution.

Program Experience

• Complete orientation and training before beginning day-to-day responsibilities.
• Work closely with senior bankers in lean deal team structures.
• Receive ongoing support from colleagues serving as instructors and mentors.
• Attend social and educational events and receive formal performance reviews.

Charlotte Consumer & Retail Group

• The approximately 30-person group covers more than 180 companies across consumer and retail sectors.
• Sector coverage includes apparel, beverages, consumer products, grocery, restaurants, and specialty retail.

Requirements

• Be completing the junior year of a four-year Bachelor’s degree or equivalent program.
• Graduate between December 2028 and June 2029.
• Demonstrate a strong academic background.
• Show professionalism, client management ability, and strong technical, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Manage multiple projects, work under pressure and tight deadlines, and remain adaptable.
• Work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
