2027 Investment Banking Off-Cycle Internship - Madrid, Country Coverage Team (February/August start)

About the role

Six-month off-cycle internship in Jefferies’ Madrid Country Coverage Team, supporting Spain and Portugal transactions across M&A, leveraged finance, equity and equity-linked financing, and restructuring. Interns work with senior bankers on pitches and live deals, performing analysis, research, modelling, marketing materials, process coordination, and client-related activities.

Role and Team

• Join the 2027 Madrid Country Coverage Team for a six-month off-cycle internship.
• Support corporate finance activities for listed clients in Spain and Portugal.
• Work across M&A, leveraged finance, equity financing, and restructuring solutions.
• Collaborate with senior bankers in a lean, cross-product and sector-agnostic team.

Responsibilities

• Assess the strategic and financial merits of proposed transactions for marketing purposes.
• Construct financial models and perform analysis of companies and assets.
• Prepare pitches, information memoranda, data rooms, presentations, and valuation materials.
• Conduct market research, company profiling, transaction analysis, and database management.
• Support live transactions, business development initiatives, and transaction process coordination.
• Contact clients and investors while analysing detailed corporate and financial information.
