About the role
Join Jane Street as a Windows Engineering intern in London, working alongside full-time IT staff on real projects. Gain hands-on experience with automation tools, Windows infrastructure, and programming languages like OCaml, F#, and PowerShell.
Role and Responsibilities
- Collaborate with full-time employees on real-world IT projects.
- Design, deploy, secure, and maintain automation tools and infrastructure.
- Support Windows desktop and server environments and cross-platform tech infrastructure.
- Develop and maintain Windows automation and configuration management tools.
- Improve CI/CD systems, frameworks, and software development environments.
- Enhance efficiency and scalability of tools, services, and monitoring solutions.
Learning and Development
- Receive initial training on internal systems and technologies.
- Learn OCaml, F#, and PowerShell scripting languages.
- Gain exposure to foundational libraries and tools used internally.
- Brainstorm and implement system and workflow improvements.
- Work on mission-critical projects alongside experienced engineers.
Candidate Requirements
- Strong programming skills with high learning potential.
- Experience with .NET languages such as C# or F#.
- Knowledge of operating system fundamentals and computer architecture.
- Basic understanding of network protocols.
- Familiarity with AI/LLMs and prompt engineering.
- Fluent in English with strong communication skills.
