About the role
Jane Street seeks Software Engineers to design and build critical systems using OCaml and Python. Candidates should be strong programmers eager to learn and solve problems in a collaborative environment.
Role and Responsibilities
- Design and build systems and tools across various firm areas including trading and accounting.
- Develop foundational infrastructure such as network monitoring and risk models.
- Use OCaml as the primary programming language and Python for data analysis and machine learning.
- Contribute to and support open source projects including Mercurial and OCaml compiler.
- Collaborate with teams to solve real problems in a fast-paced environment.
- Engage in continuous learning and improvement of software engineering skills.
Candidate Profile
- Strong programming skills with a passion for technology and problem-solving.
- Intellectually curious, collaborative, and eager to learn new concepts.
- Humble, willing to ask questions and admit mistakes.
- No prior experience required in OCaml, functional programming, or finance.
- Fluent in English.
