Cybersecurity Engineer: Security Operations Center (SOC)

About the role

Join Jane Street’s London Cybersecurity team as a new-graduate Cybersecurity Engineer supporting the Security Operations Center. You will develop and use monitoring tools, investigate and remediate threats, communicate security decisions, promote good cybersecurity practices, and collaborate with colleagues while protecting employees, data, and infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Develop and use monitoring tools to protect the firm from cybersecurity threats.
• Handle incident response and remediation when threats are identified.
• Conduct methodical, unstructured investigations to locate and repair security issues.
• Assess cybersecurity tradeoffs and clearly communicate decisions to internal stakeholders.
• Promote cybersecurity best practices and personal security hygiene across the firm.
• Share knowledge with colleagues and support the development of new analysts.

Requirements

• Graduating with a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field.
• Strong programming ability, demonstrated potential, and an aptitude for learning.
• Comfort managing code and configurations in version control systems.
• Familiarity with threat modeling and communicating associated tradeoffs.
• Ability to adapt to changing scenarios and make challenging decisions under pressure.
• Curious, collaborative problem solver with a humble attitude toward learning and mistakes.
