1
Role Responsibilities
- Design and implement new FPGA or ASIC applications from the ground up.
- Extend and refine internal high-level design and testing tools.
- Use OCaml and Hardcaml for RTL design and testing/integration.
- Work with Verilog and C as part of hardware development.
- Collaborate with the hardware team on FPGA and ASIC designs.
2
Candidate Requirements
- Comfortable with software programming languages.
- Experience with hardware description languages like VHDL, Verilog, Chisel, or Pymtl.
- Familiarity with FPGA or ASIC vendor tools such as Vivado, Quartus, Genus, or Innovus.
- Experience building working hardware projects academically, professionally, or personally.
- Interest in using FPGAs or ASICs in networking contexts.
3
About the Team and Tools
- Hardware team focuses on FPGA and ASIC designs.
- Use Hardcaml, an OCaml library for hardware description in RTL.
- Hardcaml is integrated into Jane Street's development environment.
- Exposure to foundational internal libraries and tools.
- No prior Hardcaml knowledge required.
