Quantitative Trader

About the role

Join Jane Street’s Hong Kong trading team as a quantitative trader, identifying market signals, analysing and executing strategies, building models and algorithmic systems, conducting statistical analyses, managing risk, and developing new businesses. New hires receive hands-on desk training, increasing responsibility within weeks to months, plus a year-long firmwide curriculum.

Responsibilities

• Identify market signals and analyse and execute quantitative trading strategies.
• Construct quantitative models and conduct statistical analyses.
• Build algorithmic trading systems and manage trading risk.
• Develop new businesses and apply suitable statistical or machine-learning techniques.
• Work across research, technology, and trading to solve market problems.

Training and Environment

• Work alongside experienced traders who provide teaching, guidance, and support.
• Gain significant trading responsibilities within weeks to months of joining the desk.
• Participate in a year-long firmwide educational curriculum.
• Access extensive market data, computing resources, and GPU infrastructure.
• Collaborate within a cooperative trading-desk environment.
