Hardware Machine Learning PhD Research Internship
PhD internship to research and develop machine learning solutions on custom hardware in a low-latency trading environment at IMC.

Responsibilities
- Architect and develop ML research projects based on real-world trading environments.
- Collaborate with hardware engineers to implement and deploy ML inference solutions.
- Evaluate emerging research in neural architecture search and quantization methods.
- Present research findings to the team and contribute to ML acceleration knowledge.
- Learn hardware design fundamentals from experienced RTL developers.

Requirements
- Enrolled in a PhD program in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, or related field.
- Strong understanding of hardware constraints and design trade-offs for ML on FPGAs or ASICs.
- Experience with VHDL/SystemVerilog, HLS tools, or ML-to-hardware frameworks like hls4ml, FINN, or Vitis AI.
- Knowledge of machine learning fundamentals including neural networks and inference optimization.
- Proficiency in Python or similar languages for tooling and simulation.

Compensation
- Base salary: $225,000 (component of total compensation).
- Eligible for discretionary bonus and benefits including paid leave and insurance.
