About the role

Join IMC as a Graduate Performance Engineer to apply quantitative techniques and develop ultra-low-latency trading strategies using AI and programming. Collaborate with traders and engineers in a competitive electronic trading environment.

Core Responsibilities

  • Perform quantitative research on large datasets to analyze exchange technology.
  • Design strategies to optimize liquidity taking and quoting for exchange microstructure.
  • Develop AI agents, ETL pipelines, and algorithms in Python for trading optimization.
  • Reverse-engineer and stress-test network and systems programming technologies.
  • Collaborate with traders and hardware/software engineers to implement ideas.

Skills and Experience

  • Current student graduating between Sep 2026 and Jul 2027 in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
  • Proficient in at least one programming language.
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills.
  • Motivated to compete in a highly competitive market.
  • Experience with statistical modeling, machine learning, or network technology is a plus.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills across trading and engineering teams.

Additional Requirements

  • Interest in financial markets; prior knowledge not required.
  • Available for full-time employment starting February or August 2027.
  • One application per role per year; reapplication allowed next recruitment season if not selected.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Base salary: $200,000.
  • Eligible for discretionary bonus and benefits including paid leave and insurance.
