About the role
Join IMC as a Software Engineer Intern in Hong Kong, working on real projects in Java and Python within the Strategy team. Gain experience in high-frequency trading and collaborate with engineers and traders.
Role and Responsibilities
- Work on real-world projects solving complex problems with strong design principles.
- Write complex algorithms and develop trading strategy systems.
- Collaborate in a flat, open culture encouraging creativity and knowledge sharing.
- Enhance understanding of high-frequency trading concepts.
- Build relationships across trading and technology teams.
Team and Technology
- Join the Software Engineering – Strategy team focused on trading strategy systems.
- Develop and implement pricing and risk calculation logic.
- Use Java and Python primarily; C++ experience welcomed if comfortable with Java/Python.
- Work closely with engineers and traders on impactful business problems.
Candidate Requirements
- Pursuing Computer Science, Software Engineering, or Engineering degree with Distinction average or higher.
- Must have started penultimate year of study.
- Strong analytical skills and passion for programmatic problem solving.
- Proficient in Java, Python, or C++, comfortable working in Java or Python.
- Demonstrated high impact through scholarships, competitions, or internships.
- Available to start internship in May/June 2027.
