About the role

HRT's Women in Trading and Technology Internship offers a two-to-four-week, in-person introduction to quantitative trading in New York. Participants explore technical aspects of the industry through independent Python and C++ projects, learning about software engineering and algorithm development alongside talks, seminars, and networking events. The program begins January 4, 2027.

Responsibilities and activities

  • Complete independent programming projects using Python and C++.
  • Learn about software engineering and algorithm development at HRT.
  • Explore technical aspects of the quantitative trading industry.
  • Attend technology talks and seminars.
  • Participate in social and networking events in New York City.

Program details

  • The program begins January 4, 2027.
  • Duration is two, three, or four weeks, depending on the university winter break schedule.
  • This is an in-person program based at HRT's New York City office.
  • The program is designed for students without extensive quantitative trading industry experience.

Requirements

  • Be a full-time undergraduate student graduating between fall 2028 and summer 2030.
  • Study a technical or quantitative discipline, such as mathematics, physics, computer science, or statistics.
  • Demonstrate programming experience.
  • Show passion for technology and enthusiasm for learning.
  • Have exceptional problem-solving and strong communication skills.
