About the role
The Summer 2027 Portfolio Valuation Research Intern will support analysts in Houlihan Lokey’s Financial and Valuation Advisory practice in New York. The internship provides exposure to valuation methodologies, market and company research, data collection, report preparation, document organization, and basic financial analysis for asset manager clients.
Responsibilities
- Observe and shadow analysts during valuation processes and methodology application.
- Review analyst reports to understand valuation methods.
- Research market trends and company performance.
- Collect data from multiple sources to support valuation reports.
- Assist with data entry and organization of documents and working papers.
- Attend team meetings, take notes, and complete basic analyses as directed.
Qualifications
- Pursuing a B.A., B.S., or B.B.A. in finance, accounting, or economics.
- Expected graduation between December 2027 and June 2029.
- Completed coursework in accounting and finance.
- Strong analytical abilities and financial and computer skills, particularly Excel.
- Ability to work cooperatively with staff at all levels.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

- The Portfolio Valuation practice advises many of the world’s largest asset managers.
- The practice provides valuation expertise covering private companies, structured products, derivatives, asset classes, and industries.
- The internship is based in New York, New York.
