2028 Summer Financial Analyst - General Partner Advisory (Class of 2029) - New York

About the role

The 2028 Summer Financial Analyst will join Houlihan Lokey’s General Partner Advisory team in New York. The role supports private capital clients across mergers and acquisitions, capital raising, strategic consulting, firm-level transactions, and financing initiatives through financial modeling, client materials, and market research.

Responsibilities

• Support the development of financial models for General Partner Advisory transactions.
• Prepare client deliverables, including confidential information memorandums.
• Collect and analyze market research supporting client engagements.
• Gain exposure to sell-side and buy-side mergers and acquisitions, capital raising, and strategic consulting.

Team and Transaction Exposure

• Work alongside the broader General Partner Advisory team within Houlihan Lokey’s Capital Solutions Group.
• Advise private equity, credit, real estate, and infrastructure firms on firm-level initiatives.
• Support transactions involving GP stakes, majority sales, firm-level financings, and NAV loans.
• Engage with private capital clients located in the United States and Europe.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree, graduating between December 2028 and June 2029.
• Demonstrate basic finance knowledge and a keen interest in finance.
• Bring excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Demonstrate strong work ethic and leadership skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Fundamental understanding of valuation theory, methodologies, and applications.
• Strong analytical and computer skills, including Excel proficiency.
• Ability to work cooperatively with employees at all levels.
