About the role

Summer Financial Analysts in Houlihan Lokey’s Los Angeles Industrials Group support mergers and acquisitions, capital raising, restructurings, refinancings, leveraged buyouts, and other advisory transactions. The role involves financial research and analysis, substantial responsibility, and interaction with senior professionals in a collaborative investment banking environment.

Responsibilities

• Support transactions including mergers and acquisitions, private placements, refinancings, and leveraged buyouts.
• Research and analyze financial statements, economic conditions, industry developments, and acquisitions and divestitures.
• Evaluate investment attributes of publicly traded and privately held securities companies.
• Work collaboratively with professionals while interacting with senior-level staff and supporting client projects.

Requirements

• Pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree with expected graduation between December 2028 and June 2029.
• Demonstrate foundational knowledge of and strong interest in corporate finance.
• Communicate effectively and collaborate across all organizational levels.
• Demonstrate a strong work ethic and proven leadership skills.
• Complete the required Suited assessment after submitting the application.
• Candidates requiring current or future employment visa sponsorship are not eligible.

Preferred Qualifications

• Fundamental understanding of valuation theory, methodologies, and applications.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
• Ability to leverage generative artificial intelligence tools to improve productivity and streamline workflows.
