About the role

Summer Financial Analyst position in Houlihan Lokey’s Houston Oil & Gas Group, supporting mergers and acquisitions, acquisitions and divestitures, capital raising, valuation, and restructuring transactions. Analysts research financial information, analyze companies and securities, and collaborate with senior professionals in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.

Responsibilities

• Research financial statements, economic conditions, industry developments, acquisitions, divestitures, and investment attributes.
• Support transactions including mergers and acquisitions, acquisitions and divestitures, private capital raising, valuation, refinancings, and restructuring.
• Work collaboratively with experienced professionals and interact with senior-level colleagues across assignments.

Team and Environment

• Join Houlihan Lokey’s cross-product, global Oil & Gas Group based in Houston.
• Work in a collaborative, entrepreneurial environment offering substantial responsibility and broad transaction exposure.
• The group includes more than 70 professionals and a 10-person acquisitions and divestitures technical team.

Requirements

• Pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree, graduating between December 2028 and June 2029.
• Foundational knowledge of and strong interest in corporate finance.
• Ability to collaborate and communicate effectively across organizational levels.
• Strong work ethic and demonstrated leadership skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Fundamental understanding of valuation theory, methodologies, and applications.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
• Ability to use generative artificial intelligence tools to improve productivity and streamline workflows.
