About the role

Summer Financial Analyst role in Houlihan Lokey’s Chicago Consumer Group, supporting mergers and acquisitions, capital raising, refinancings, leveraged buyouts, and other corporate finance transactions. Analysts research financial statements, economic conditions, transactions, and securities while working collaboratively with senior professionals and gaining broad investment banking exposure.

Responsibilities

• Support mergers and acquisitions, private debt and equity placements, refinancings, leveraged buyouts, and related advisory transactions.
• Research and analyze financial statements, economic conditions, industry developments, acquisitions, divestitures, and publicly traded and private securities.
• Work collaboratively with professionals and interact with senior-level staff in a responsibility-rich environment.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree with expected graduation between December 2028 and June 2029.
• Demonstrate foundational corporate finance knowledge and keen interest in the field.
• Communicate effectively across organizational levels and work collaboratively.
• Show a strong work ethic and proven leadership skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Fundamental understanding of valuation theory, methodologies, and applications.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
• Ability to leverage generative artificial intelligence tools to improve productivity and streamline workflows.
