2027 Summer Associate – Financial Restructuring – Los Angeles

About the role

Summer Associate in Houlihan Lokey’s Los Angeles Financial Restructuring Group, working on creditor- and debtor-side restructurings, distressed M&A, financing, and special situations. The role provides exposure to financial advisory and investment banking products, with substantial responsibility on deal teams and opportunities to participate in client negotiations.

Responsibilities

• Advise companies and stakeholders in out-of-court and in-court restructurings.
• Raise debt and equity financing for clients and stakeholders.
• Provide distressed M&A advisory services.
• Advise on special situations involving distressed investing.
• Participate in complex negotiations on behalf of clients.

Team and Role

• Work on varied transactions within the Financial Restructuring business.
• Gain exposure to financial advisory and investment banking products and industries.
• Join deal teams typically including a managing director, vice president, associate, and financial analyst.
• Take on substantial responsibility while contributing creative ideas and business development efforts.

Requirements

• Pursue an MBA at a top accredited institution.
• Graduate between December 2027 and June 2028.
• Demonstrate strong teamwork, communication, and financial analysis skills.
• Have strong knowledge of accounting and applied financial theory.
• Show keen analytical capabilities and excellent verbal and written communication skills.
