About the role

Join Houlihan Lokey's Power, Utilities & Renewables team as a 2027 Financial Analyst in Dallas or Minneapolis. Gain experience in M&A, capital markets, and financial restructuring within the power sector. Collaborate on diverse transactions and develop valuation and financial analysis skills.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Work on sell-side and buy-side M&A mandates and capital markets transactions.
  • Advise stakeholders including boards, equity sponsors, and investors in power and utilities.
  • Perform financial analyses: valuations, financing, debt capacity, and IRR.
  • Prepare marketing materials, pitches, teasers, and presentations.
  • Collaborate with industry professionals and consultants on asset evaluations.
  • Support analysis of recent events, transactions, and sector trends.

Team Environment

  • Work within deal teams including Managing Directors, Vice Presidents, Associates, and Analysts.
  • Collaborative and entrepreneurial culture with substantial responsibility for analysts.

Basic Qualifications

  • Pursuing Bachelor’s or Master’s degree, graduating between Dec 2026 and June 2027.
  • Prior internship or work experience in finance.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong financial and computer skills with understanding of valuation theory and methods.
  • Ability to work cooperatively with all staff levels and strong analytical skills.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Estimated salary range: $110,000 - $120,000, subject to qualifications and location.
