About the role
Six-month off-cycle internship in Houlihan Lokey’s Financial Restructuring Group in Dubai. The intern will support creditor- and debtor-side restructurings, distressed mergers and acquisitions, negotiations, and financing advisory, working alongside deal teams and gaining exposure to financial advisory and investment banking transactions.
Responsibilities
- Advise companies and stakeholders on out-of-court restructuring transactions.
- Provide advisory services in stressed and distressed situations.
- Participate in complex negotiations on behalf of clients.
- Support distressed mergers and acquisitions advisory assignments.
- Advise on debt and equity raising in stressed and distressed situations.
Team and Environment
- Work specifically with the Financial Restructuring Group on varied transactions.
- Perform a role similar to a Financial Analyst within deal teams.
- Work alongside managing directors, directors, vice presidents, associates, and financial analysts.
- Operate in a fast-paced, demanding, entrepreneurial, and results-driven environment.
- Interact with senior-level professionals and clients while working cooperatively across staff levels.
Requirements
- Strong academic track record.
- Genuine interest in Financial Restructuring or complex, large financial transactions.
- Understanding of valuation theory, methodologies, and applications.
- Strong quantitative, financial, and analytical skills.
- Strong leveraged buyout and discounted cash flow modelling skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
Preferred and Personal Qualities
- Experience in Leveraged Finance or Financial Restructuring is desirable.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Exceptional work ethic.
- Motivation to contribute in a rapidly changing and demanding environment.
