About the role

Guggenheim Securities seeks MBA or JD candidates for a 2027 Summer Associate internship in Los Angeles. Interns will support the Industrials Investment Banking team, focusing on Aerospace & Defense, gaining hands-on experience in M&A advisory and capital raising.

Role and Responsibilities

• Prepare client presentations and interact with senior bankers, clients, lawyers, and accountants.
• Assist in designing complex financial models and valuation analyses.
• Draft internal and client-facing documents including pitchbooks and fairness opinions.
• Perform client due diligence and prepare transaction-related documentation.
• Contribute to strategic frameworks and business development tools.
• Conduct competitive research and analyze sector trends.

Training and Development

• Receive formal and hands-on investment banking training.
• Develop skills in M&A process management, financial and data analysis.
• Enhance soft-selling, presentation, and professional communication skills.
• Gain experience in negotiations and client relationship management.

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior internship experience in investment banking, accounting, consulting, private equity, hedge funds, or corporate finance.
• Familiarity with MS Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
• Maturity and ability to work with senior management and executives.
• Highly organized with initiative and ability to work independently.
• Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.

Basic Qualifications

• Must be on track to receive an MBA or JD degree by Spring 2028.

Work Location and Salary

• Role based in Los Angeles office, expected onsite at least 4 days per week.
• Salary based on an annual rate of $175,000, with possible variation by location and experience.
• Total compensation may include incentive components beyond base salary.
