About the role
Guggenheim Securities seeks 2027 Investment Banking Analysts for its Los Angeles Aerospace & Defense team. Analysts support M&A advisory and equity and fixed-income capital raising, working on major strategic and financing assignments with senior bankers and clients. The role offers formal and hands-on training and a pathway toward Associate promotion.
Responsibilities
- Prepare client presentations and interact with senior bankers, clients, lawyers, and accountants.
- Build complex financial models and perform valuation analyses.
- Draft management presentations, lender presentations, fairness opinions, pitchbooks, and other documents.
- Conduct due diligence and prepare information memoranda and transaction documentation.
- Research competitors, sectors, and industry trends to support client work and business development.
- Analyze information, test hypotheses, and communicate recommendations to senior leadership.
Training and Work Environment
- Receive formal and hands-on training in M&A process management, financial analysis, data analysis, and presentations.
- Develop skills in business acumen, communication, negotiations, and soft-selling.
- Work in small, collaborative client teams with exposure to senior bankers and client representatives.
- The role is expected to be based in the Los Angeles office at least four days per week.
- Candidates are expected to pursue promotion to Associate and a long-term banking career.
Requirements
- Receive a Bachelor's degree in December 2026 or Spring 2027.
- Acquire the SIE Exam, Series 79, and Series 63 within 150 days of employment.
- Demonstrate maturity and the ability to work with senior management and company executives.
- Have strong analytical, organizational, written communication, and oral communication skills.
- Show initiative, attention to detail, effective process management, and ability to work independently.
- Prior investment banking, accounting, consulting, private equity, hedge fund, or corporate finance experience is a plus.
