About the role

Guggenheim Securities seeks 2027 Investment Banking Analysts for its Los Angeles Aerospace & Defense team. Analysts support M&A advisory and equity and fixed-income capital raising, working on major strategic and financing assignments with senior bankers and clients. The role offers formal and hands-on training and a pathway toward Associate promotion.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare client presentations and interact with senior bankers, clients, lawyers, and accountants.
  • Build complex financial models and perform valuation analyses.
  • Draft management presentations, lender presentations, fairness opinions, pitchbooks, and other documents.
  • Conduct due diligence and prepare information memoranda and transaction documentation.
  • Research competitors, sectors, and industry trends to support client work and business development.
  • Analyze information, test hypotheses, and communicate recommendations to senior leadership.

Training and Work Environment

  • Receive formal and hands-on training in M&A process management, financial analysis, data analysis, and presentations.
  • Develop skills in business acumen, communication, negotiations, and soft-selling.
  • Work in small, collaborative client teams with exposure to senior bankers and client representatives.
  • The role is expected to be based in the Los Angeles office at least four days per week.
  • Candidates are expected to pursue promotion to Associate and a long-term banking career.

Requirements

  • Receive a Bachelor's degree in December 2026 or Spring 2027.
  • Acquire the SIE Exam, Series 79, and Series 63 within 150 days of employment.
  • Demonstrate maturity and the ability to work with senior management and company executives.
  • Have strong analytical, organizational, written communication, and oral communication skills.
  • Show initiative, attention to detail, effective process management, and ability to work independently.
  • Prior investment banking, accounting, consulting, private equity, hedge fund, or corporate finance experience is a plus.
