About the role

Evercore’s New York Private Capital Markets Advisory Summer Analyst Program is a 10-week internship for undergraduate students graduating December 2028 through June 2029. Analysts evaluate capital structure solutions, support private markets advisory assignments, build financial models, and work closely with senior bankers, clients, and collaborating product teams.

Responsibilities

  • Develop market views across private equity, leveraged loan, high-yield, and private credit markets.
  • Prepare materials supporting market views for internal and external client presentations.
  • Structure and evaluate debt or equity commitments for M&A, minority equity, growth capital, and credit solutions.
  • Build financial models and analyze financial statements, credit documents, and complex accounting issues.
  • Coordinate with industry, M&A, Activism/Defense, ECM, Restructuring, and Tax Advisory teams.
  • Work in small teams with client contacts, senior bankers, and firm partners.

Program Experience

  • Gain exposure to capital structure solutions involving credit and equity mandates.
  • Support assignments for public and private companies, management teams, and alternative institutional investors.
  • Work on several projects concurrently in a boutique investment banking environment.
  • Receive on-the-job learning and opportunities for responsibility through exposure to senior management and clients.

Requirements

  • Pursue an undergraduate degree with graduation expected between December 2028 and June 2029.
  • Demonstrate academic excellence and leadership experience on campus.
  • Show strong interest in special situations, leveraged finance, and minority equity transactions.
  • Demonstrate curiosity about private credit and equity markets.
  • Bring intellectual curiosity, problem-solving ability, and willingness to learn about capital structure and allocation.
  • Possess strong analytical, written and verbal communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills.

  • Students may submit a maximum of two applications.
  • Withdrawn applications still count toward the two-application limit.
