About the role

Join Evercore’s Consumer & Retail Advisory team in New York as an Associate, supporting senior bankers on M&A and broader strategic advisory transactions. The role offers exposure to consumer industries, responsibility in small deal teams, and work spanning valuation, due diligence, client materials, execution, and business development.

About the Team

• Advise food, beverage, personal care, household products, restaurant, grocery, and specialty retail companies.
• Work with clients ranging from global conglomerates and high-growth consumer businesses to leading financial sponsors.
• Collaborate closely with senior bankers in small transaction teams on complex, multi-billion-dollar international assignments.

Responsibilities

• Execute buy-side and sell-side M&A, divestitures, spin-offs, activism defense, capital raising, restructuring, and strategic advisory assignments.
• Manage analysts and support senior bankers across live transactions, business development efforts, and capital markets updates.
• Oversee DCF, precedent transaction, public trading comparable, accretion/dilution, pro forma, and LBO analyses.
• Conduct industry, competitive, market share, pricing, brand trend, due diligence, research, and capital markets analysis.
• Manage live deal execution, resolve complex financial and accounting issues, and coordinate with external transaction stakeholders.
• Draft management presentations, information memoranda, pitch books, and internal committee materials for equity offerings.

Requirements

• Rising second-year MBA student at a top business school.
• Strong interest in investment banking, quantitative analysis, corporate finance, valuation, accounting, and business strategy.
• Superior analytical skills with demonstrated academic excellence and the ability to think broadly about strategic issues.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills, interpersonal abilities, and capacity to articulate ideas clearly.
• Strong work ethic and an enthusiastic, outgoing, achievement-oriented character.
