Join DRW as a Software Developer Intern in Chicago to build advanced trading and risk applications using cutting-edge technology over a 10-week program.

Role and Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and deploy proprietary software solutions across the firm.
• Create decoders to translate raw packet data from exchanges into accessible formats.
• Build normalizers to construct order books for traded instruments.
• Develop applications to facilitate communication of executed trades to compliance.
• Identify innovative solutions and advocate for their implementation.
• Collaborate with developers, traders, researchers, and analysts in cross-functional teams.

Candidate Requirements

• Pursuing Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in CS, Engineering, Physics, Math, ML, or related fields.
• Expected graduation between December 2027 and June 2028.
• Exposure to network programming, multi-threaded, real-time, or GUI programming.
• Strong understanding of object-oriented design, data structures, and algorithms.
• Eagerness to learn and understand the impact of your code.
• Strong problem-solving, analytical, communication, and collaboration skills.

Technical Skills

• Proficient in C++, Python, or Java software development.
• Curious and quick to learn new technologies.

Internship Experience

• Complete a challenging project advised by a software engineer.
• Participate in educational, social, and team-building activities.
• Live in fully furnished apartments near the office.
• Build a professional relationship with an experienced mentor.
• Complete an options course from a developer’s perspective to understand trading technology.
