About the role

As a Floor Trader in Chicago, you will train across the Cboe trading floor and DRW’s trading desk, gaining experience in floor-based and voice trading. You will analyze market activity, support trading tools and risk management, collaborate with traders and engineers, and assume increasing responsibility for trading decisions.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze order flow, trading activity, and broker behavior to identify patterns and potential trading opportunities.
  • Develop, maintain, and enhance tools, models, algorithms, and systems supporting trading analysis and risk management.
  • Partner with traders and engineers to define requirements and develop trading tools.
  • Monitor market activity and communicate timely, relevant information to team members.
  • Research new market opportunities and contribute ideas to the team.
  • Take increasing ownership of trading decisions and risk as your knowledge develops.

Training and Exposure

  • Complete a comprehensive training program covering DRW’s products, markets, and trading approach.
  • Split time between the Cboe trading floor and DRW’s trading desk.
  • Gain exposure to floor-based and voice trading while working with experienced traders and brokers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in economics, finance, mathematics, statistics, computer science, or a related field.
  • Expected graduation date between December 2026 and June 2027.
  • Genuine interest in financial markets and desire to build a trading career.
  • Ability to make thoughtful decisions in fast-paced, high-pressure environments.
  • Strong communication skills for working with traders, brokers, and market participants.
  • Collaborative mindset, intellectual curiosity, and willingness to learn from feedback.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior trading or financial-markets experience is helpful but not required.
  • Proficiency in Python is a plus.

Compensation

  • Annual base salary is $200,000.
  • Eligible for an annual discretionary bonus.
