IT Intern

About the role

The IT Intern will support DRW’s technology teams and trading desks by troubleshooting technical issues, maintaining infrastructure, and contributing to projects. The role covers network monitoring, hardware and software configuration, root-cause analysis, documentation, and technology improvements while developing practical experience in a fast-paced, collaborative trading environment.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and monitor network infrastructure to support optimal performance and reliability.
• Configure and support hardware and software, including servers, routers, switches, and firewalls.
• Troubleshoot infrastructure issues, perform root-cause analysis, and implement solutions with the infrastructure team.
• Support infrastructure projects, including system upgrades and migrations.
• Document infrastructure processes, procedures, and configurations.
• Monitor emerging technologies and trends, proposing infrastructure improvement opportunities.

Requirements

• Pursue a Computer Science, Information Technology, or related degree, graduating between December 2027 and August 2028.
• Understand networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and LAN/WAN technologies.
• Be familiar with Windows, Linux/Unix, and virtualization technologies.
• Have a basic understanding of AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform concepts.
• Demonstrate analytical, problem-solving, communication, teamwork, and attention-to-detail skills.
• Collaborate globally, take ownership, remain curious, and handle pressure and time constraints calmly.

Nice to Have

• Experience with scripting languages such as Python or PowerShell for automation tasks.
• Familiarity with configuration management tools, including Ansible, Puppet, or Chef.
• Exposure to cybersecurity principles and best practices.
• Previous infrastructure-related internship or hands-on experience.
