About the role
This 2–6-month internship in Group Strategic Analytics offers quantitative students practical experience across risk analytics, mathematical modelling, data processing and risk management. Based in Berlin, Frankfurt or Bonn, interns support projects involving credit, market, operational and revenue risks while receiving formal training, mentoring and continuous support.
Responsibilities
- Support day-to-day business activities and special projects within Deutsche Bank’s Risk function.
- Observe market developments, identify risks and analyse their driving forces.
- Calculate potential risk exposures and support risk appetite setting.
- Develop mathematical models and formulate solutions for financial and non-financial risks.
- Process and structure large datasets using relevant statistical software packages.
About the Team
- Group Strategic Analytics provides analytics, modelling and implementation skills across Deutsche Bank’s divisions.
- The team is part of the Risk division, which has nearly 4,000 employees.
- Models cover credit, market, operational, revenue, capital planning and customer behaviour risks.
- GSA ensures models meet regulatory, accounting and internal requirements.
- The global team has locations in Germany, India, the United States and the United Kingdom.

- Locations include Berlin, Frankfurt and Bonn.
- Internship duration is two to six months, with dates agreed individually.
- Interns receive formal training, continuous support and professional skills training.

Requirements
- Currently studying a quantitative discipline, such as Mathematical Finance, Statistics or Econometrics.
- At least in the third semester of university studies.
- Able to apply theoretical knowledge in practice.
- Analytical skills and efficient problem-solving abilities.
- Fluent written and spoken English.
- SAS or Python, IT and data management skills are appreciated.
