About the role
Join D. E. Shaw's Systems team in London for a 12-month industry placement as a Systems Administrator. Support diverse technology infrastructure, collaborate on cloud and on-premise services, and develop problem-solving skills in a dynamic environment.
Role Responsibilities
- Manage and support Windows PCs, UNIX servers, mobile devices, and storage solutions.
- Collaborate with engineering teams on deploying on-premise and cloud services.
- Troubleshoot complex technical issues and administer infrastructure systems.
- Implement automation and efficiency improvements.
Candidate Requirements
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft enterprise environments, both on-premise and cloud.
- Interest in improving technology and processes through internships or projects.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and project management skills.
- Ability to analyze and research to solve unfamiliar problems.
- Familiarity with Linux, Python, PowerShell, or AI-assisted tools is a plus.
- Curiosity and motivation prioritized over specific skills or experience.
Program Details
- 12-month placement from June 2027 to June 2028 in London.
- Eligibility subject to school requirements for industry placements.
