About the role
Join D. E. Shaw as a Software Developer Intern in New York for a 12-week summer program. Collaborate with trading teams to build scalable, real-time financial trading tools while gaining hands-on experience in a supportive environment.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with quants, developers, and mentors to build analysis and trading tools.
- Design and deploy scalable, real-time applications for automated trading.
- Work on real-world projects demonstrating programming and problem-solving skills.
Requirements
- Strong academic record in math, statistics, physics, engineering, computer science, or related fields.
- Programming experience in Python, Java, or C/C++ with attention to clean, efficient code.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Interest in quantitative finance; no prior finance experience required.
- Enrollment in a full-time degree program, typically final year students.
Program Details
- 12-week internship from June to August 2027 in New York City.
- Monthly base salary of $25,000 plus overtime pay and a $25,000 sign-on bonus.
- Travel coverage to/from internship and choice of furnished housing or $10,000 housing allowance.
- $3,300 stipend for self-study materials and $4,000 stipend for personal technology equipment.
