About the role
Ten-week New York internship for JD/MBA students entering their third or fourth year, joining Fundamental Equities, D. E. Shaw Ventures, or Credit Opportunities. Interns research companies and sectors, conduct due diligence and primary research, develop and test investment hypotheses, and use proprietary data, technology, and AI-enabled tools to support fundamental investing.
Responsibilities
- Partner with investment teams using cross-sector research to develop differentiated, thematic investment views.
- Research companies and industry sectors, conducting analysis and due diligence for fundamental investments.
- Use proprietary data and technology tools to build and pressure-test investment hypotheses.
- Conduct primary research through management meetings, expert calls, and novel data analyses.

Requirements
- Currently enrolled full-time in a JD/MBA program and entering the third or fourth year during the internship.
- Demonstrated academic and professional achievement, passion for investing, and aptitude for financial analysis.
- Ability to think independently, analyze investment ideas rigorously, and contribute original ideas.
- Exceptional attention to detail, comfort with data, and interest in AI-enabled fundamental research tools.
