About the role

Citi’s six-month Equity Capital Markets placement analyst program in London starts January 2027. You will support IPOs, accelerated equity offerings, rights issues and other capital-raising mandates, developing transaction, valuation and client skills. The role offers training and potential consideration for a full-time position after graduation.

Responsibilities

  • Develop pitchbooks and execute Equity Capital Markets mandates, collaborating with M&A, Financing and Debt Capital Markets teams.
  • Manage transaction processes, including compliance checks, committee approvals, research compliance liaison, and agreeing terms with senior bankers.
  • Analyze financial data and models, including company valuations, discounted cash flow, financing, comparative, and pro forma analyses.
  • Engage with Citi’s global sales force and network to understand investors and coordinate activities across the franchise.

Program Details

  • The six-month program starts in January 2027 and provides training for capital-raising activities.
  • Successful placement analysts will be considered for a full-time position after graduation.
  • The role is based at Citi’s Canary Wharf office in London and currently follows a hybrid working model.

Requirements

  • Be in your penultimate year of university and expected to achieve, or have achieved, a 2:1 undergraduate degree.
  • Be available to start in January 2027.
  • Demonstrate intellectual curiosity, interest in financial markets, and a proactive approach to developing creative ideas.
  • Bring strong communication, planning, organizational, analytical, teamwork, and workload-management skills.
