About the role
Citi’s London Markets Quantitative Analysis off-cycle placement offers a three-to-six-month opportunity to apply advanced quantitative knowledge across quantitative analysis, structuring, or exotics trading. Placements involve modelling, product pricing, risk management, and client-focused solutions, with experienced-professional collaboration and potential consideration for a full-time program.
Responsibilities
- Create, implement, and manage mathematical models supporting the Markets business.
- Price, trade, and manage risks associated with a diverse range of market products.
- Collaborate with traders and salespeople on technical products and client requirements.
- Develop new products aligned with the firm’s risk framework.
- Market new products internally and occasionally help present solutions directly to clients.
- Respond to client-specific product solution requests using quantitative expertise and creativity.
Placement Details
- Placements run for three to six months, with flexibility on start dates.
- Analysts may be placed in Quantitative Analysis, Structuring, or Exotics Trading.
- Work alongside experienced professionals to participate actively and develop relevant skills.
- Successful analysts may be considered for a full-time program after placement completion.
- Applications are reviewed on an ongoing basis.
Requirements
- Master’s or PhD obtained or in progress in engineering, mathematics, physics, computer science, or another scientific discipline.
- Good understanding of finance and a strong interest in Markets.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Excellent interpersonal, planning, organisational, and attention-to-detail skills.
- Intellectual curiosity, creativity, independence, teamwork, and commitment to personal development.
- Integrity, ethical decision-making, mobility, flexibility, and fluent written and spoken English.
