Markets – Sales and Trading, Off-Cycle Internship, Paris – France, 2027

About the role

Citi’s six-month Markets internship in Paris starts in January 2027 and places interns alongside trading professionals across rates, equities, commodities, credit, futures and FX. Interns develop market, analytical and client-facing skills through trading-desk projects, risk and operations support, quantitative research, market commentary and trade ideas, with potential consideration for full-time roles.

Responsibilities

• Learn market making, trading-book risk management, real-time pricing and risk processes from experienced traders.
• Develop pricing, hedging and analysis tools, trading strategies, and quantitative research supporting risk-model improvements.
• Support risk reconciliation, P&L, trade booking, term sheets, databases and other trading-desk activities.
• Use Python and VBA to analyse markets, identify parameter dislocations, and develop systematic trading ideas.
• Prepare market updates, presentations, sales materials, derivatives commentary and trade ideas for institutional clients.
• Support client reporting and pre- and post-trade services while collaborating with Origination, Valuation, Middle Office and Back Office.

Program Details

• The internship runs for six months, starting in January 2027, in Citi’s Paris Markets team.
• Interns receive knowledge and training while working alongside experienced professionals across multiple Markets product areas.
• Successful analysts may be considered for a place on a full-time program after the internship.
• The role follows a hybrid model, with up to two days working from home weekly.
