About the role

Citi’s six-month Investment Banking Placement Analyst internship in Madrid starts January 2027. Interns support corporate advisory and transaction execution across mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, restructurings, and equity, debt, and derivatives activities. The program offers on-the-job training, mentorship, financial modelling experience, and exposure to client projects in a collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

• Collect and analyse company and industry information to support transaction execution and organise financial data.
• Analyse financial data and build valuation, discounted cash flow, financing structure, and comparable company models.
• Create and refine business development presentations that communicate complex financial concepts clearly.
• Coordinate tasks and workflows with internal teams and external stakeholders to support project delivery.
• Prepare internal documentation and comply with control and compliance requirements.

Training and experience

• Join the Investment Banking team as an integral member supporting ongoing client projects and transaction execution.
• Receive on-the-job training, mentorship, and hands-on experience in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
• Gain exposure to mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, restructurings, and equity, debt, and derivative securities transactions.
