About the role
Citi seeks a Placement Analyst for its Amsterdam Investment Banking team, starting in January 2027 for up to six months. The placement provides training and practical experience supporting mergers, acquisitions, restructurings, capital raising, financial analysis, modelling, transaction execution and business development for corporate and financial sponsor clients.
Responsibilities
- Collect and analyse company information, conduct industry research, and organise financial data for transaction execution.
- Develop financial models covering valuations, discounted cash flow analysis, financing structures and comparative analyses.
- Prepare and finalise business development presentations communicating strategic insights and proposals.
- Coordinate workflows with internal teams and external working groups to support timely project delivery.
- Prepare internal documentation and comply with control and regulatory requirements.
Program Details
- Placement starts in January 2027 and lasts up to six months.
- Comprehensive training and practical exposure to investment banking are provided.
- Recruitment operates on a rolling basis, so early applications are encouraged.
- The advertised full-time salary range is €48,000–€72,000; remuneration will be discussed during the application process.
Candidate Profile
- Currently in the final year of university studies or a recent graduate.
- Expected to achieve, or already achieved, a 2:1 degree or equivalent academic standing.
- Students at Dutch universities should achieve Grade 7 or above.
- Demonstrated interest in business, the financial industry and its broader dynamics.
- Strong academic achievement, intellectual curiosity and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Strong communication, planning, organisation, adaptability and relationship-building skills, with high integrity.
