Banking, Investment Banking, Placement Analyst, Amsterdam – Netherlands 2027

About the role

Citi seeks Placement Analysts for its Amsterdam Investment Banking team, starting in January 2027 for up to six months. The placement provides training and practical experience supporting mergers, acquisitions, restructurings, capital raising, securities underwriting, financial analysis, valuation, transaction execution, and client presentation development.

Responsibilities

• Collect and analyse company information, conduct industry research, and organise financial data for transaction execution.
• Develop financial models covering company valuations, discounted cash flow analysis, financing structures, and comparative analyses.
• Prepare and finalise business development presentations communicating strategic insights and proposals.
• Coordinate workflows with internal teams and external working groups to support timely project delivery.
• Prepare internal documentation while following control and compliance requirements.

Candidate Profile

• Show strong interest in the financial industry, intellectual curiosity, initiative, and a willingness to learn.
• Demonstrate strong communication, planning, organisation, adaptability, and flexibility in a dynamic environment.
• Build collaborative relationships, contribute proactively within teams, and uphold high standards of integrity and ethical conduct.
• Be in the final year of university or a recent graduate, with strong academic achievement.
• Achieve or have achieved a 2:1 undergraduate degree or equivalent; Dutch university students require Grade 7 or above.
• Demonstrate strong interest in business and fluency in both written and spoken English and Dutch.
