About the role

Six-month Placement Analyst Internship with Citi’s Financial Institutions Group Corporate Banking team in Paris. The role supports credit analysis, risk approvals, exposure monitoring, relationship development and transaction pitches for banks, insurers, asset managers and financial market infrastructures. The programme includes team placement, training and exposure to Citi’s global banking network.

Responsibilities

• Perform financial and operational analysis of clients, including historical and projected performance.
• Prepare credit memos for annual reviews and episodic transactions for risk and business approval committees.
• Monitor client exposure and profitability using Citi systems, producing concise analysis for the team.
• Research and present relationship-development opportunities across banking, capital markets, treasury, trade services and markets products.
• Support relationship development across Citi’s geographical network and assist bankers with acquisition-financing and capital-markets pitches.

Programme Details

• Six-month internship with placement on a Corporate Banking FIG team for the programme’s duration.
• Training and support are provided to build knowledge and skills aligned with the FIG team.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled at a university able to provide an internship agreement.
• Student status and a related visa covering the entire internship period.
• Very good knowledge of corporate finance and financial markets.
• Fluent written and spoken English, the working language.
• Advanced skills in PowerPoint, Excel and Work.
• Strong communication, planning, organisational skills and commitment to ethical decision-making.

Preferred Profile

• Knowledge of Financial Institutions Group activities is recommended.
• French and additional languages are beneficial but not essential.
• Knowledge of the global or domestic business landscape is advantageous.
• Commitment to learning, personal development, teamwork and building a deep understanding of financial services.
