About the role

Citi’s 10-week Commercial Banking Summer Analyst Program in Milan starts in June 2027. Interns join a Coverage team, receive formal and on-the-job training, and support Relationship Managers with client research, financial analysis, lending, deal management, presentations, and cross-firm coordination while developing commercial banking and credit expertise.

Program and Training

• Join a Coverage team and work directly with Relationship Managers throughout the program.
• Receive formal training and hands-on experience from the program’s start.
• Complete ongoing training in sales, credit, products, technology, and professional skills.
• Access junior and senior mentorship to support professional development.

Responsibilities

• Conduct company research, industry analysis, financial modelling, valuation, and discounted cash flow analysis.
• Support secured, unsecured, term, syndicated, leveraged, and cross-border lending activities.
• Partner with Bankers and Product teams to identify solutions supporting client goals.
• Prepare business development presentations, pitch books, prospect memos, and other client materials.
• Coordinate with product, credit risk, legal, operations, compliance, marketing, risk, and technology teams.

Program Outcomes

• Develop understanding of Citi Commercial Bank’s target market, value proposition, and coverage model.
• Learn how bankers identify client needs and match them with suitable credit products.
• Gain exposure to commercial loan underwriting, structuring, documentation, and portfolio monitoring.
• Understand Citi’s credit and regulatory policies and procedures.
