About the role
This 11-week internship supports corporate accounting, fund and broker-dealer accounting, and financial reporting. Responsibilities include audits, cash-related tasks, monthly closes, regulatory reporting, NAV calculations, financial statements, external audits, and accounting research within a fast-paced New York team.
Corporate Accounting
- Audit Travel and Expense reports through Concur under Citadel’s Expense Reimbursement policy.
- Support accounting tasks related to cash receipts and disbursements.
- Assist with the close process and monthly journal entries.
Fund and Broker-Dealer Accounting
- Assist with regulatory reporting for broker-dealer entities.
- Support monthly closes and periodic financial reporting.
- Monitor and report counterparty compliance.
- Drive process improvements and support additional projects.
- Help oversee accounting books and records.
- Oversee fund- and investor-level NAV and return calculations.
Financial Reporting
- Support preparation and review of quarterly and year-end financial statements.
- Assist with managing external audits.
- Support the financial statement publication process.
- Engage stakeholders throughout the financial statement process.
- Research accounting questions under U.S. GAAP and IFRS.
Candidate Profile
- Work part-time alongside academic quarters.
- Apply advanced Excel knowledge in accounting and reporting activities.
