About the role
Join Citadel's Sector Data team in New York as an early-career data scientist supporting investment research with alternative data and AI tools. Develop technical skills, sector knowledge, and commercial judgment in a collaborative environment.
Role Responsibilities
- Deliver data cuts, refreshes, mappings, and cohort analyses for investment research.
- Create and maintain investor-facing trackers, dashboards, and workflows.
- Query, clean, transform, and analyze alternative datasets using statistical methods.
- Investigate data anomalies, reconcile sources, and document assumptions.
- Improve shared Python and SQL code platform for flexibility and reusability.
- Leverage AI and automation to accelerate research workflows and monitoring.
Candidate Requirements
- Bachelor's or master's in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
- Up to 2 years experience in software engineering, data science, or analytics.
- Strong proficiency in Python and SQL; familiar with version control and testing.
- Passion for financial markets and delivering alpha through data insights.
- Ability to explore unfamiliar datasets and validate results rigorously.
- Strong communication, ownership, and learning agility across sectors.
