About the role
Chicago Trading Company is seeking a Chicago-based Accounting Intern for its Summer 2027 program. The eight-week internship combines daily operational accounting with tailored projects, financial analysis, mentorship, and exposure to accounting systems. Interns join a collaborative cohort and receive a monthly salary equivalent to $85,000 annualized, plus a signing bonus.
Responsibilities
- Assist with posting and reconciling daily financial activity in the general ledger.
- Review daily cash activity and ensure transactions are accurately recorded.
- Participate in month-end close, including accruals, fixed assets, and prepaid transactions.
- Prepare variance analysis for specific legal entities and P&L groups.
- Complete two- to six-week projects pairing intern interests with Accounting team initiatives.
Program Experience
- Work in an impactful role mirroring a full-time Accountant and Finance team member.
- Gain hands-on financial analysis experience and exposure to various accounting systems.
- Meet daily or weekly one-on-one with your manager to track progress and learning.
- Receive mentorship from members of the Finance leadership team.
- Learn from and network with Quant Trading and Software Engineering interns.
- Participate in educational and social activities emphasizing teamwork and collaboration.
