About the role
Join Brevan Howard’s 2027 London Summer Internship Program in Trading, applying quantitative, machine-learning, and coding skills to global macro investing. Interns work with front-office teams on data pipelines, models, trading signals, AI tools, and analytics, while receiving financial-markets training and exposure to a multi-strategy hedge fund.
Responsibilities
- Build data extraction and analysis pipelines, models, and trading signals supporting Portfolio Manager decision-making.
- Integrate AI into analytical systems and develop AI-powered tools using LLMs and agent workflows.
- Contribute to the core analytics library used by Quants and Portfolio Managers for research, trading, and risk management.
- Work directly with front-office personnel on impactful projects in a fast-paced environment with immediate feedback.
Training and Experience
- Complete one week of in-depth training covering macroeconomics, FX, digital assets, derivatives, bonds, credit, and fixed income.
- Learn trading strategies, risk management, Excel, Python, AI tools, and large language models.
- Participate in key talks, mentoring, social events, and interactions with experienced professionals.
- Gain insight into the workings of a multi-strategy hedge fund and its regulatory environment.
Requirements
- Be a penultimate-year undergraduate or junior, first-year master’s student, or PhD student at a recognized university.
- Complete and receive the relevant degree award before July 2028.
- Demonstrate strong mathematical, quantitative, problem-solving, and technical skills, including Excel, VBA, R, AI, and machine learning.
- Show interest and passion for financial markets, trading, and financial products.
- Work independently and collaboratively, demonstrate an entrepreneurial spirit, and communicate strongly in written and spoken English.
Progression and Application
- Top-performing interns are considered for Brevan Howard’s 2028 Graduate Program the following year.
- Longer-term paths may include analyst, quant, and Portfolio Manager roles.
- Candidates may submit only one Summer Internship Program application globally.
