About the role

This 10-week London internship offers quantitative candidates exposure to systematic trading within a macro hedge fund. Interns receive financial markets training, work with execution trading and research teams, solve optimisation problems, build trading systems, conduct independent research, and collaborate with traders using advanced technology and substantial datasets.

Program Details

Systematic Trading Team

• The central execution services team delivers efficient equities trading through the systematic platform across global markets.
• Interns gain exposure to execution trading, execution research, and portfolio financing teams globally.
• Interns work closely with traders in a fast-paced environment using advanced technology and large datasets.

Responsibilities

• Obtain insights into trading activity across multiple regions and market events.
• Solve optimisation problems using sophisticated mathematical techniques, Python, and business objectives.
• Create systems that improve day-to-day trading activity.
• Conduct independent research and communicate findings to support decision-making.

Requirements

• Be a penultimate-year undergraduate, junior, or first-year Master’s student at a recognised university.
• Achieve at least a 2:1 or 3.6 GPA, with studies completed and awarded before July 2028.
• Study engineering, computer science, economics, data science, mathematics, or another STEM-related subject.
• Demonstrate strong mathematical, quantitative, problem-solving, and Python programming capabilities.
• Show genuine interest in financial markets, trading, and financial products.
• Communicate effectively in English and demonstrate teamwork, organisation, professionalism, and attention to detail.
