Hardware Asset Management Analyst, Winter 2027 (Co-op/Internship) - 8 months

About the role

This eight-month Winter 2027 co-op/internship supports BMO’s Hardware Asset Management team in tracking, governing, and optimizing IT hardware throughout its lifecycle. The role involves reporting, data-quality investigation, automation opportunities, and project support, while developing experience with ServiceNow CMDB, communication, collaboration, and technology asset management in a financial institution.

Team and Role

• Join BMO’s IT Asset Management function, overseeing servers, network devices, computers, mobile phones, ATMs, printers, and scanners.
• Focus on asset visibility, governance, controls, utilization, compliance, and lifecycle management rather than hands-on hardware support.
• Help ensure hardware is assigned appropriately, tracked accurately, and managed from purchase through retirement.

Responsibilities

• Develop and monitor reports related to hardware assets and asset management activities.
• Investigate data-quality issues and follow up with relevant stakeholders to support accurate records.
• Identify automation opportunities and develop automation solutions for team processes.
• Support team initiatives and projects across their lifecycle.
• Analyze data, business processes, workflows, and technology performance to provide insights and recommendations.
• Document requirements, project artifacts, test cases, and end-user testing results.

Student Experience

• Gain experience working within a large financial institution and develop communication, collaboration, and analytical skills.
• Learn to use the ServiceNow Configuration Management Database platform.
• Access BMO Academy’s corporate learning platform and participate in available student mentorship and networking activities.
