About the role

Eight-month Business Analyst co-op/internship in BMO’s Technology group, beginning Winter 2027. The role analyzes business processes and data, defines requirements, supports technology projects, and validates solutions through testing and stakeholder collaboration. It is intended for students enrolled in academic programs who will return to their studies.

Responsibilities

  • Investigate business operations, services, processes, technology performance, and issues to identify improvement opportunities.
  • Elicit requirements, assess feasibility, and ensure proposed solutions achieve expected business outcomes.
  • Support project teams throughout delivery, aligning development activities with documented business requirements.
  • Create clear project artifacts covering functional and non-functional business requirements for stakeholders.
  • Analyze data and information to provide insights, recommendations, and business performance assessments.
  • Develop test cases to validate business requirements and end-user testing results.

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in an academic program and returning to studies after the co-op or internship.
  • Foundational proficiency in data analysis, process improvement, systems thinking, and business requirements analysis.
  • Foundational knowledge of Agile delivery, business architecture frameworks, and application functional design.
  • Strong verbal and written communication, collaboration, analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Demonstrated learning agility, digital fluency, insights development, reporting, and functional analysis capabilities.
  • Motivation and strong desire to learn; three to five years’ experience is not required for campus candidates.
